Our Recycling Work

From the beginning we have carried out sorting and recycling of aluminium cans, ink toners and cartridges as part of the activity at Hele. This has been successful and led to the starting up of a cardboard and packaging film recycling service for the High Street Traders in Ilfracombe. After a pilot scheme was launched towards the end of 2006 the collections continued with the support of 100% of the original traders who took part in the pilot.

During the summer of 2007 the district council introduced public recycle bins to the High Street in Ilfracombe and asked us if we would like to service them. This served to strengthen our links with the district and gave us further opportunity to help the local community.

With the introduction of new legislation for businesses at the end of October 2007 we were fortunate to gain publicity for our services across the area as one of the local companies that could help with commercial recycling.

From here our services have developed gradually and now include regular collection services to towns from Lynmouth to Barnstaple and around the north coast.

We see the recycling as the commercial aspect of our business that not only assists local businesses to comply with legislation but also gives support to our core activity of community based activities for our service users at Hele.
